Product quality planning is a structured quality management method, which is used to determine and formulate the steps required to ensure that a product satisfies customers. The goal of product quality planning is to promote contact with everyone involved to ensure that the required steps are completed on time. The commitment of the company’s top management to achieve the purpose of product quality depends on the effective efforts of the company’s top management. What are the steps to implement product quality planning? Now let’s learn!

6 Steps Of Implementing Product Quality Planning

1. Organize a team
The first step of the supplier in product quality planning is to determine the responsibilities of the horizontal functional group. This group not only does not need the participation of the quality department, but also includes representatives of engineering, manufacturing, material control, procurement, quality, sales, on-site service, subcontracting and customers.

2. Determine the scope
At the earliest stage of the product project, for the leader of the product quality planning team, it is important to identify customer needs, expectations and requirements. The team leader must hold a meeting to determine the roles and responsibilities of each representative party; Determine customer requirements; Determine the functions of the team; Understand customer expectations; Determine the cost, schedule and constraints that must be considered.

3. Synchronous engineering
Synchronous engineering is a procedure that the horizontal functional group makes efforts for the common purpose. It will replace each stage of the engineering technology implementation process of level by level conversion. Its purpose is to promote the introduction of high-quality products as soon as possible. The product quality planning group should ensure that the planning and implementation activities of other fields / groups support the common goal.

4. Control plan
The control plan is a written description of the control parts and process system. The separate control plan consists of three independent stages:

– Sample: description of dimension measurement and material and performance test during sample manufacturing;
– Trial production: description of dimensional measurement and material and performance test conducted after sample trial production and before full production;
– Production: in mass production, comprehensive documents of product / process characteristics, process control, test and measurement system will be provided.

5. Problem solving
During the planning process, the team will encounter problems in the product design and / or processing process, which can be documented by a matrix representing the specified responsibilities and time schedule. In difficult situations, it is suggested to use the solution of multi-party demonstration. Where appropriate, the analytical techniques described in Appendix B shall be used.

6. Schedule of product quality
The first task of the product quality planning team after completing the organizational activities is to formulate the schedule. When selecting the progress elements to be planned and plotted, the type and complexity of products and the expectations of customers shall be considered. All team members should reach an agreement on each matter, measure and progress.
Good product quality planning is the basis for ensuring product quality. Through early planning, we can effectively guide resources, identify the period of change required, and provide high-quality products in time at the lowest cost, so as to satisfy customers.
