    What is layering?
    Because the causes of quality fluctuation are various, the data collected are often comprehensive. In order to truly reflect the causes and change laws of product quality fluctuation, we must classify and sort out the quality data.
    Hierarchical method, also known as classification method and grouping method, is a basic thinking method that must be followed when collecting and sorting data.

    Layered purpose:
    The characteristics (results) are grouped according to machinery, materials and operation methods, and the causes of their abnormalities are found out through comparison.

    Layering principle:
    Make the fluctuation range of data in the same level as small as possible, and the difference between layers as large as possible, otherwise it will not play the role of classification and summary.

    Layer classification:
    Personnel:
    Shift, gender, age, technical level, new and old employees, etc;

    Machine:
    Stratification of equipment type, model, old and new, different production lines and fixture types;

    Method:
    Stratification of process requirements, operating parameters, operating methods, production speed, etc;

    Measurement:
    Stratification of measuring equipment, measuring methods, measuring personnel and sampling methods;

    Time:
    Different shifts, dates and other layers;

    Environmental Science:
    Stratification of illumination, cleanliness, temperature and humidity;

    Other:
    Region, service conditions, defective parts, defective contents, etc.
